An unusual repair of perforating internal inflammatory root resorption; a case report of endodontic treatment

Internal inflammatory root resorption (IIRR) can occur as a serious complication of dental trauma which leads to progressive loss the structure. An early diagnosis could influence therapeutic approach, but endodontic treatment becomes challenge with doubtful prognosis. The present report described an unusual clinical presentation IIRR perforation resulting from four years previous. A 15-year-old female patient was presented our service pain in maxillary incisor region. Intraoral radiography revealed large radioloucent area compatible IIRR, communicating periodontium middle third on distal face right central incisor. canal chemo-mechanically prepared. calcium hydroxide (CH) intracanal medication used and renewed periodically times. filled only cervical region level by inverted gutta-percha cone technique. Clinically radiographically, all follow-up examinations asymptomatic tooth, evidencing periapical tissue repair new bone formation. tooth remained 3 afterwards. case supports idea executing satisfactory decontamination chemo-mechanical preparation, thus creating favourable environment for repair.
